The purpose of this literature review is as an additional reference in diagnosing and managing submandibular abscess. writing article was obtained from various sources the form books, scientific journals guidelines for related institutions. Source searches were carried out on online portals such Medscape, NCBI Google Scholar other health websites. Submandibular abscess inflammation accompanied by accumulation pus potential space between deep neck fascia which anatomically very complex space. Nearly all odontogenic infections that cause abscesses are caused a mixture aerobic anaerobic microbes. Necrosis dental pulp result caries provides entry channel bacteria into periapical tissues. After inoculation bacteria, infection develops will spread directions, but more areas lowest resistance. main priority to maintain airway patency, followed intravenous antibiotics then surgical drainage.
